Quiet Days in the South West
welcome!

Jesus said, 'Come apart into a desert place and rest awhile' (Mark 6.31)

Sometimes we cannot find time for more than a few hours away from our normal lives to rest in a 'desert place', but these can still be valuable for engaging in prayer, and relaxing in God's presence
Quiet Days' are days set apart for rest, quiet reflection, and prayer, providing participants with a chance to regain some balance between 'doing' and 'being'. They typically begin with a short act of worship (enabling us to let go of any concerns which we have brought with us), and will be punctuated by short thoughts or meditations on a particular theme, given by the Leader, each leading into a period of reflection and silence. The day will usually end with another short act of thanksgiving, a gathering of the gifts that have been received, before leaving for home, relaxed and spiritually refreshed.

Would you like to attend a Quiet Day, but don’t know where to go?
Click on our 'map' page and find somewhere near you.

Do you have preferred date and are prepared to travel, but don’t know what’s going on beyond your own community?  Then take a look at the 'diary' page.

Or perhaps you would like to organise your own Quiet Day,
but need ideas for finding a suitable venue, or leader (or maybe both?)
