Melinda Wells
Founder
I had the incredible privilege of working with Jen Rees Larcombe at her ministry "Beauty from Ashes" (BFA) from 2008 to 2021 delivering weekly quiet days and prayer ministry. We also ran the occasional retreat together at various locations around the country. Covid brought an end to the in person ministry of BFA and shortly afterwards in 2022, my lovely Jen went on to glory.

Quiet Days was born out of a desire to offer a space of time and place where people can be intentional about connecting with God. The offer is for us to set aside time to be with Him, to focus on and engage with Him as one would a dear friend. It carries a lot of what I learnt from my time at Jen's ministry in terms listening to God and providing safe space for people, although it has a quieter character. The focus is on empowering and enabling retreatants to engage with God in whichever way seems best for them rather than providing counselling, prayer ministry or workshops.

I am married to Gavin and we have two phenomenal children in their 20s and two very much loved dogs. When I am not working with Quiet Days, I am working in my "day job" as a Craniosacral Therapist.
Quiet Days Collaborators
Maxine Kennedy
Maxine is a creative prayer genius, she has designed and delivered creative prayer spaces that enable people to connect with the heartbeat of God. There may be a number of seemingly different stations available, but it is always possible to see the golden thread of a theme running through and connecting them, it is a testimony to Maxine's ability to follow the Lord's leading in her creative work and a blessing to all those who get to engage with the invitations to prayer she creates.
Ruth Paul
Ruth's professional background as a specialist midwife in fetal medicine and bereavement counselling bring a deep wisdom, sensitivity and wealth of knowledge in understanding and supporting women. Her insights, ideas and advice are key in developing and delivering our Quiet and Silent retreat days.
Judith Shaw
Judith's knowledge and experience in leading women's groups, life groups and courses such as Alpha is deep and broad. She is a phenomenal, faithful woman of prayer and is very much the "Prayer Anchor" for the retreat days. Without her these days simply would not happen.

Melinda and I have worked together for almost fifteen years. We have prayed together and with many of our guests at Beauty from Ashes. We have travelled and been to conferences together, where she has held me and those listening to me in prayer or spoken herself while I prayed for her. In all that time, and with all the people we have seen and the prayers we have said, I have seen a deep love in Melinda for God and through that for others.

Melinda shows great courage. She prays with passion and conviction for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. She helps people connect with God, and journeys with them as He ministers to them.

She truly loves prayer, whether it’s just her and the Lord, or with friends, or in helping others. I trust Melinda to care for those with whom she prays, she is a woman of deep integrity. It was my suggestion that she use the name “Beauty from Ashes” as she embodies the DNA of this ministry - to love people well and to build a House of Prayer where people can come to talk, to listen, to receive prayer, to meet with Jesus and know His healing.

God bless you in all you do beloved.
